EP00: Intro to Language Of Light
This is a transcript of Episode 00, where I introduce the concept of light language and reasons for developing the podcast, Return to Wonder. I'll be posting the transcripts of only a few episodes.
Welcome to the very first episode of Return to Wonder.
The title of the podcast came to me after years of being told from within and from spirit to wonder. After countless months of not knowing exactly what that meant, I finally had enough experience that had me in wonder, and acknowledging its frequency. I also realize that it provides a path within the mind — like a map — that allows for expansive and non-judgmental exploration that I find is essential for accessing light. Wonder is what snapped me out of many a deep, spiraling dives into shadow, and it’s a place where one can suspend all thought and enter into a place of pure inquiry.
In this episode, I’d like to share with you my understanding of light language, who’s using it, how it’s used, other terminology used by practitioners, a little about my journey, and other reasons for creating this podcast. In this podcast, where I’m not using light language, I make a point not to channel information like most folks in this space, and will, as much as possible, indicate when I’m receiving information. For the most part, I’m using my observations in the material plane based on my own experience as well as the experiences of those I’ve interviewed, guided, and/or witnessed. When interviewing, I ask practitioners to give examples from their lived experiences so as to give you, the listeners, grounding in the material world.
Ok. So What is light language?
As I understand it, light language is a frequency that interacts with its surrounding; the engagement of frequency of an energy, accessed through time and space, bypassing the conscious mind as all your cells and different bodies experience the frequency. Because the interactions are infinite, it’s difficult to define. It’s as if you are swept into a wave of energy that makes you feel your true self, and activates layers upon layers of parts of you that you’ve forgotten or weren’t conscious of; for example, thought energies that are stuck in your body, or your particles at the atomic level that get jolted and acknowledged. It speaks through the heart and soul of anyone receiving it, so it’s best to receive without using your mind to understand, but rather through emotions that will reveal the core interaction and changes within you. Some people can understand light language as if it’s a language they can interpret. So far, I’ve only met one person who can translate any light language; others who have heard light language can get snippets of the message, but the interpretation varies in all cases, depending on who is receiving the information and frequency. The way you understand and interact with the frequency is based on your unique makeup, your experiences in this and past lives; the lens from which you experience life will filter the messages as well. Each person will have a different experience, much like any event. One person can experience it as a loving, calming effect, while another will feel sadness bubbling up and remember a longing that they’ve forgotten. While yet another may feel giggly and start laughing with joy.
There are scientists who are researching the effects of energy, thought, and the interaction of the two on matter, but for the most part, this research is not funded by mainstream establishments.
Light Language is expressed through any human creative outlet: voice, sound, letters, images, and movement. I transmit codes primarily through drawings, hand movement, and voice or sound.
So lets start with Terminology:
Other people have used terms such as angel language, light code, source code, soul language, frequency medicine, sound healing, language of light, quantum frequency, quantum sound healing, transcendental healing, universal language, multi-dimensional frequency, and any permutations of those words.
Here are ways I’ve used terms throughout the podcast:
Light Language refers to the vocal expression of sound that sounds and looks like an expression of ideas, thoughts and images;
light codes or codes are drawings and expressions of art; where you can either understand through new neural networks that fire, or images and symbols that energetically unlock something within you. I use codes and light language loosely throughout, depending on what I feel it’s doing for folks.
Tones and toning are used interchangeably to describe a tone or relationship among tones that generally create music.
Light language is unique in that it sounds like a spoken language which the speaker may not understand. Or that the creator of an art work may not understand to the fullest extent what they’ve created or where their inspiration came from. Much of the art is based on automatic drawing or writing. Like any creative endeavor, the creator may be swept into the moment and produce something beautiful while in the flow, riding an inspired emotion. Light language is not too different from that experience.
Since I tend to speak more than create artistic expressions, I’ve based sounds on what they elicit in my thoughts — the insect tribe, the bird tribe, the shamanic tribe, the serpent and dragons, and the galactic (Pleidian, Sirian, Arcturian, Alpha Centuri, etc.)
When you ask most channelers who or what they’re channeling, they’ll say that the entities or spirits explain that they are a collective — no one identity. I’m curious to explore this more since on the whole, my antenna accesses anything that needs or wants accessing; but not in the way that collectives come and introduce themselves to me to channel this or that. There are many channelers who are shown and guided to share channeled information, activations, etc. That is definitely not how I experienced my entry into light language, and when there are collectives that decide to enter my being in the past, I’ve had pretty interesting arguments with them.
Beyond the channeling of frequencies, there is, what I call, Essence. And within Essence, an individual’s pure access to their soul emerges. This is an area that I’m more familiar, mostly through the work I do to crack people open and connect them to their truth.
As far as I know, there are no experts in this practice; perhaps there are, among the mystery schools and siloed groups of energy healers; this [podcast] is a space of lived experience, of experimenting through sharing and receiving feedback, of discerning your own truth and holding loving boundaries — in other words, living fully through connection. Instruction on other energy modalities that I’ve experienced — particularly in the UK — provide a rigorous grounding in observation and feedback, based on scientific research protocols. As far as I’ve experienced with some of these institutions, they don’t deal with light language, and are clear about not mixing “spirituality” with “scientific exploration of connecting with spirit”.
By sharing and exploring with guest speakers this seemingly new access to an energetic modality, I also wish to eliminate the stigma, fear and isolation that many of us experience upon coming into it. My intention is to provide something that may lead you to find clarity in your path, to experience a knowing and conviction that is unshakable within you — not because you deem it so, using a level of force to keep it there in the truth bucket — but because you simply know in the moment that a truth is revealed and all else dissolves in that knowing. I also wish to contribute to the growing knowledge and practice of a field which has not be recognized for what it has done and continues to do so for humanity.
My path has been that of finding the lessons, wisdom, and breakthroughs from within while being shown the integration from my own observations in my externality. Each one of us seem to learn on our own through our guides, inner knowing, and connection with the universal energies. And since each of our learning styles are unique to us, the sharing creates a much richer understanding of how we can integrate light language into our lives and with one another.
An increasing number of people are sharing their skills, learned through decades of their own experience. And thanks to social media, I’m able to reach out and interview them as they show up on my radar. They inspire me with their courage, insights and wisdom; and remind me to appreciate the imperfections of being in this human body, of dancing with time, of balancing the knowing with the material, “real” world. I hope that their stories give you a new way of understanding your own being, and come closer to experiencing life in the “I AM” state of being.
For many, the ability to transmit codes arrives spontaneously or activated through another light code practitioner. More people are coming into this ability, and it’s with this in mind that I’ve created this podcast. It’s easy to think we’re crazy or unnatural, when, in fact, codes arrive in the most natural way.
What’s the big deal about light language and codes?
What I do know is that people who are exposed to light codes have used it to heal inner trauma, receive insights from within, and expand their consciousness. It brings one closer to the divinity within, and connects us to each other in ways that we have forgotten. World peace? Yes, it’s doable, but it first requires humans to see and become more conscious of themselves, and the impact each and every one of us has on the other.
Research within the certain scientific fields are experimenting with observing the interaction of frequencies emitted through sound, light and matter or antimatter; but the cost and complexity prevent scientists from testing much of what is unknown, and interdisciplinary integration is slow going at institutions and among countries.
But imagine if frequency changes your body’s frequency — like sound, color, the air we breathe — what it could possibly do for the mental, physical and etheric levels of your existence? Research has already documented the chemical and performance [of frequency’s] impact of an individual, whether it’s through the academic outcomes of students who listen to certain classical music or placing people in plant and colour-curated environments for work performance. In the late 90s, Japan changed the music playing on train platforms to lower stress and prevent the unprecedented number of suicides occurring on the train tracks. High end hotels and resorts use essential oils and air fresheners to provide a sense of freshness and relaxation for guests, so they’ll remember these positive feelings and associate it with their brand.
So if Light language, an exchange of energies, goes beyond with its infinite applications and impact…well, this area of research gets really interesting.
One researcher based in Egypt has been examining and teaching light codes — what he calls, Bio Geometry — and its ability to return harmful energy frequencies into neutral and healthy frequency. He’s applied this solution in Europe, where the public health research institutes have identified electric smog as a strong potential cause of cancer, depression and miscarriages. Those of you who are sensitive to EMF already know this to be true for you; but for policy to kick in or investments to go toward research or companies that have a high potential of transforming the current structures of economic systems, well, that’s not something most people are ready for, yet.
Having been in politics for over a decade, and having explored the impact investing world since the launch of the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals, I see the old energies and ways of thinking that are robustly maintained by those who carry it across generations, industries, and countries. But it’s because these old, extractive, fear based energies are more easily witnessed that we are able to find a new path, open channels for others to access and create beauty from within. Children see through the layers of culture and society much faster than adults; and the wave of children coming into this world with full remembrance are being felt all over the world. We are all, together, creating a world in which the next generation may thrive — whether it’s through contrast, hyping up ideas, discovering new untapped information from nature, or contributing to the socio economic system. Where ever you are, and whatever you’re doing, it’s all contributing to the whole.
I’ll just put it out there that I’m curious to bring together scientists, spiritual leaders, wisdom keepers, light language practitioners, children to adults, and a host of business executives from different industries for a grand experiment that feels much better than the one we’re in at the moment.
I graduated from Ivy League schools, built an eclectic life that engages a strategic, detail oriented, systems design thinking mind. I geek out on root causes, dynamic networks and social impact solutions. So, when all of a sudden, I started speaking what sounded like several languages fluently as if I’ve known them all my life, but fully functional and aware that it wasn’t anything I’ve heard before, you bet I got super curious. I went down the rabbit hole. Not one of seeking gurus and reading tombs of books, but of exploring energy within and learning the art of deep listening with nature, one of the oldest teachers of all.
I’m also intimately familiar with mental health, working with trauma survivors and in communities where women leaders are un-doing the impact of atrocities from within and outside the community, healing the neurological and physical trauma of a nation. To add to all that, I have the genetic makeup of what western science identifies as depression, PTSD, bipolar, schizophrenia and personality disorders; so I knew enough to be self aware and not freak out. Not that integrating energies doesn’t take my mind down a spiraling of thought that gets ever more creative and real in the etheric realms, but by grounding and strengthening the ability to discern have served me well. If you’re aware of plant medicine’s impact of accessing this side of your brain and what it can do for individuals suffering from trauma, you also know that it has an effect in eliminating OCD, depression, PTSD, etc. So, as I explore and meet folks who are working in the mental health areas with light code, I get excited for the potential of what light language can do; not just within individuals but within society as well — the collective trauma that is bubbling up within populations to be seen and acknowledged.
With light language, there are many areas that can help accelerate the uptick and understanding of this modality.
Collaboration. I noticed many practitioners do not play with light language or with each other. It’s either a serious endeavor, or something that turns into a stigma. Considering that the first insights I gained after light language busted through me was the cross-pollination and weaving that creates the beauty not only in light language but in all areas of our lives, I find it hard to justify the amount of ego I witness in the light language world around me, or the silencing stigma and fear. It is part of the incentive that has kicked me into this position of creating the podcast.
Terminology. As noted before, we use different terms to describe our experience; it would help for us to have a lexicon that translates to the same concept. Some folks are trade-marketing their channeled wisdom, while others are demonstrating new levels of integrated expressions. For those of us who use light language or create with it, we know that the frequencies transform quickly as we integrate these new energies more into our many bodies. So how to formalize something that is, even among practitioners, feared and stigmatized?
The human mind needs an explanation, for clarification of terminology used by professionals all around the world, creating a lexicon that can compare apples to apples, so as to not mislead, misinterpret and therefore, misdiagnose.
Although many of us transmitting light language will often say that one need not understand light language, that the English language doesn’t have enough vocabulary to describe what we experience, I have to say that there are other languages — for example, Japanese — where the nuances are within our language, and we can describe in greater detail what is flowing within. Perhaps not a perfect replica, but that’s what words are — symbols and meaning stepping in for something we can give to the other as a closer version of our own experience.
We can also, as a collective, come together and begin to uncover the many different ways light language manifest; is revealed, received and experienced; and celebrate and honor those who carry on the traditions within cultures — and the very people who continue that tradition — that have carried this wisdom for thousands of years for humanity at the expense of their safety.
For those who are seeking deeper understanding of self in this Now Time, it is often necessary to exercise the mind — to undo or transform one’s understanding — and pivot into the new, or spiral into the new, the core, the truth, exercising that which we are built with: the brain. And the brain does function through inputs, logos, structure. We dance between the structure and the fluidity, the masculine and the feminine, the ether and matter; balancing the dichotomy in harmony with one another, so that we may flow seamlessly through the cycle of the infinite and return to center.
So how do we keep up with the changes that sometime occur on an hourly basis? How do we catalogue, while enabling the fluidity of knowledge and its transformation?
Through discussions, stories and experiences with other practitioners, scientists, and professionals, I seek to explore and gain deeper understanding of who and what I am as a human being with intimate knowledge of the universe in a pocket — or an expanse — within my body. How can this modality spur medicine and solve some of our most pressing issues within society such as restoring trust, experiencing with one another unconditional love, co-creating beauty as we have thousands of years before?
In East Africa, I’ve been privileged to work with courageous women who demonstrate how much we, as humans, are capable of persevering, forgiving, caring, and reconnecting with one another. If light language can accelerate this process for these and other communities, reduce or eliminate the trauma, the narratives that ensue, and any illusions, the better we will be for having shared the wisdom we individual gain with one another.
Many people who have come into their light language choose a quiet path of practice. It can also be a force to be reckoned with within you — whether it manifests physically or mentally — and if you are having a challenging time integrating it into their daily life, this podcast is for you. I would have loved to have resources when I came into light language, not just folks streaming it and sharing their “activations” but an explanation that also helped the mind understand and relax a little. Perhaps because I can feel the ancients as well as the new energies, it’s been challenging figuring how accessing the infinite would manifest itself in my external life. So my hope is that this podcast will enable many to ease into and play with their own gifts rather than distorting one’s relationship to an essential part of self.
I also know some of us choose to step out of this material world, completely isolated and going off grid or in the extreme cases, committing suicide; and I’m deeply motivated to be part of the creation of a new earth that accepts all differences, to trust ourselves and therefore each other, to uplift and elevate humanity.
For those who are practicing, I hope to shed deeper insight and understanding of how to practice and share your light more fully among others; and for folks who aren’t practicing but who are receiving, to discern for themselves who to engage with. I’ve been blessed with meeting all levels and manner of energy healers: those who blast me with their trauma to those who demonstrate integrity and unconditional love.
So I’d like to ensure people are exercising their discernment when they’re entering the unknown while seeking help. Soon after stepping into light language, I met a handful of “energetic healers” introduced through friends or colleagues. I found that most of the time, I’d be teaching them something rather than them helping me with my struggles. I’ve sat in sacred and energy healing circles and end up experiencing the goo and b.s. emanating from the leader while protecting individuals who had no clue what was going on. There was a limit to how much certain ‘healers’ and ‘energy workers’ could help, and I continue to learn the many ways the ego within the mind obscures the service provider or shaman.
That said, there are genuine folks who are supporting and creating safe spaces for people to heal, process and integrate. Each person is different, needing and seeking information and experience unique to their journey; and I can only share my personal experience. Somehow, I seem to survive the unpleasant encounters and gain a deeper understanding of how humanity is evolving, and the role we individually play in uplifting each other.
I also wish to peel back the glaze of the ego and spiritual elitism or bastardization I’ve heard among those practicing energetic modalities, not just light language. Some colleagues believe light language or their modality of spiritual awakening is the highest frequency that can be channeled, that their modality is more elevated. And then there are others who believe it’s the work of the devil.
I think of light language and any energetic skill as one path out of many. We are a creative, diverse species and the quantity of interpretations will be aplenty, the paths infinite; none of them right or wrong, better or worse. It’s only through the lens of our creation that we will discern, creating our own path and interpretation of our lived experience.
Years from now, if not sooner, there will be others who will shine the light more brightly, clearly and compassionately. I produce this in the hopes that my presentation may provide contrast and a platform to those who are the next wave of light beings entering this world. I do this to hold space for the new generation of children rising into a world that continues to change. May they retain their compassion, wisdom and unconditional love with which they entered this world to transform us all. May their parents understand how to raise them with the appropriate combination of nurture and exposure for that child. And may we, as a collective, remove our blinders, lower our shields, and begin to see what is truly happening right in front of our eyes.
Who are speaking and using light language, you might ask?
Light language has been within us for ages — everyone has the ability to tap into this essence of oneself.
There are many who transmit codes, but do not know, or are privately practicing it. How do you not know if you’re coding? Well, I come across artists whose creations emit energy, symbolic maps and vectors that unlock codes. I can feel the clicking away in my body and mind. When I ask how they’re inspired, they often share that they’ve always drawn or doodled images, and that the act itself is soothing or inspiring in some way. I also come across business folks who reveal that they hum or sing loudly at home, and often talk to themselves; that it makes them feel better. And why not? Your voice is the most attuned instrument in your arsenal to support you. Often, leadership coaches will share that, although they don’t describe their work in public as energy work, that’s basically what they do in client consulting or coaching sessions.
So. Yes, there are many folks who are — as I call it — still in the closet, or simply don’t know they’re bringing forth ancient ways of creation.
Over the last few years, and even between 2021 and 2022, there’s been an increase in sharing of light language and codes in closed Facebook groups, Tiktok and Instagram. I’m not even combing Discord, Telegram, WeChat and other platforms.
Back in 2018, I could easily count the number of closed groups in the area of ascension symptoms, woke communities, and light language or other spiritual groups. Now, specifically under light language, there are over 200 Facebook groups ranging from a few handful to several thousands of members. Youtube light language songs, meditations and channeling have hit over 300,000 views per video.
That wasn’t so back in the days when it meant death, some of which we still feel today in a different form. There are traditions among many Indigenous cultures that carry this gift. Some have forgotten, others are sharing it openly to heal the urbanized human who has lost connection with nature and the natural process of being human.
The expression varies with the individual’s connection to a frequency or traditional lineage. Some people can connect with the plants — like the Shipibo people of the Peruvian Amazon who weave and paint the energetic patterns of plants into their craft. The Aboriginal First Nations of Australia also paint and use their energetic understanding of the world to heal and feature the beauty of what is. In Asia, we have different arts that can lead to accessing light language: martial and the creative arts where energy within is harnessed and exercised. Zazen traditions, the Tibetan mandalas and other ceremonial practices of connecting with the divine, tea ceremonies or the way of the tea, the way of the brush, the way of the sword, etc. There are codes that show concepts, movement, maps in symbolic terms, like the mayan glyphs and the Egyptian hieroglyphs.
I’ve activated people from investors to christian leaders to young prep school students, so if you think this is unique to “spiritual,” “woowoo” spaces and folks, think again. Colleagues report on clients who are executives at Microsoft and Google to stay at home moms.
A few years ago, Hilma af Klint’s work was featured at the Guggenheim; Yup: those are codes. I first came across artists like Kandinsky, and saw the potential of what could have been code. But he was restrictive in his expression. The energy doesn’t quite come through. Hilma, though, trusted.
It’s not for everyone, in the sense that, if you’re someone who is using a different method and on a different pathway, light language may not even feel like anything to you. But for those who are affected, it’s a pretty fun and quick way to change your frequency — to bring you into a different state of awareness of your self, your life, your surroundings. Combine it with a different method, like Kundalini yoga, and it’ll likely accelerate your understanding of energy and how you interact with it.
People who practice light language apply it in numerous ways:
Some sell art work, others post activations on various social media, then there are those who organize gatherings to report on the energies of the moment, just like the weather report or astrological reports. Those who practice on their own generally tend to use it when they’re clearing and activating themselves, the collective or the land.
Unlike yoga, zen meditation, vipassana, reiki, and acupuncture or other holistic and alternative medicine which were brought to the Western countries from Asia in the early 60s and 70s, light language is a modality that ignites spontaneously and creatively for many who practice it.
It’s sacred, personal, and multidimensional.
The more I examine the growing space of light language, the more I want to share this modality and open incredible spaces for people to step into.
But let me preface a bit here, just so we’re clear that light language is not the end all be all, tadaa! you’re in your light being and exercising this shining brightness of love and light.
When you come into your light being [Essence], and begin to access your light codes, you may find that nothing is as it seems — even your own identity. It may take years before you realize there is a different version of you inside, waiting to emerge from the depths within you.
You may find yourself experiencing your professional life with no meaning other than satisfying a curiosity of working with other humans, examining the feelings that emerge from the exchange and then moving on, or finding something fascinating that you’ve wanted to know (without knowing).
Your may leave your life partner or end and drop relationships that don’t carry a depth that you’re moving into, even if these relationships have been developed over decades, including those you were born with. You probably will move many times, trying to find a place that feels like home, searching for a community of people whom you seek but can’t find once you scratch the surface.
If you take the path of safety, to surround yourself with the life you feel will be comfortable, safe and familiar, you’ll notice the discontent, the discord, the shifting earth underneath you. The more you remain in the cocoon, the more the pressure from within reflects back at you through your externalities. Depending on your belief system, the pressure may be gentle and kind or forceful, dramatic and painful.
The need for kindness within and from without, for a sense of safety, is paramount in emerging and integrating into this level of awareness and being. It often requires shedding of a personal identity that you didn’t know was an integral part of you, but that is now loosening to allow for the newer version of you to emerge.
Remembering can be both a journey through molasses and a breakthrough to air and sun. We are all learning together, and finding different ways of sharing our insights that best fulfill our joy and expression of love within.
During the course of listening these interviews, I encourage you to keep an open mind, where what you hear and what you understand may clash, blend or find a beautiful unfolding for yourself that is true to you. In all interviews, there is a component of light language. In such instances, I’ve try my best to note them within the recording so you can find a quiet space to listen. Although some of us can listen to light language and seemingly not be affected, each person’s filter of the codes will be different. Some people will feel energies moving in their body, while others may see images — entering different dimensions, almost as if you’re on hallucinogenic plant medicines.
I recommend drinking water before and after listening, to allow the energies to flow in and out of your cells. If you’re used to light language, I invite you to play with it: feel into the frequency — the vibration of the sounds — and see if you can access the vibrations’ target, an emotion within that can be touched and released, acknowledged and honored — whether its a feeling of joy like you’ve never remembered before or a sadness underlying an illusionary layer of narrative we’ve stitched into our original fabric of being throughout our lives — there is something for everyone to take away and experience.
At the end of this episode, I’ll share with you a toning. You can listen to the music once, or, if you want to experiment with what it does for you, here’s a little exercise in playing with your intuition:
Get a piece of paper and ask yourself how many days, weeks or months you could listen to this for your highest and benevolent good.
Then ask yourself how many times per day or week you’ll listen to it.
Write down the numbers and log it in your calendar.
Then listen to the recording, as your first time, and see what changes within you or around you over the days and weeks to follow.
I’d love to hear about your experiences and thoughts on the episodes you choose to listen.
I can’t stress enough how unique you are, and how much your input adds to the collective understanding of humanity. Whether you’re activated in light language or not, each person has a code that unlocks something for another. This work goes beyond BIPOC and DEI; but these efforts of creating inclusive work environments, of hiring people of color and diverse backgrounds, of fighting for social justice and recognizing the value of a human being are all leading toward a broader, expansive understanding of what it means to be human. What we came here to not do but to be — the fully integrative aspect of knowledge [the witnessing of oneself].
I often describe humanity as if we are all puzzle pieces, none of us any bigger or smaller than each other, simply a different shape that fits into each other. When we lose or exclude someone, we cannot become whole. When I hear that we’ve lost another person to suicide or a sudden unexplained death, I’m saddened that they chose to go and feel an urgency to create a material world that could celebrate their being.
Finally, I want to acknowledge all those who have maintained faith; who are struggling with the separation, the misunderstandings, the stigma and abuse; who despite the cruelties and hardship, continued to dream and weave their love, hope, desires of beauty into the world so that we are able to experience this incredible time. I express my deep gratitude to those who have come before our time and who are still here with us, expanding the reach and impact of light language that lay the groundwork for a new way of humanity to emerge.
Thanks for listening [reading!]. I’m looking forward to meeting and sharing the journeys of a global community of light language practitioners who are transforming our world.
